Ongoing Therapy

Preconception, Pregnancy, Post-partum and Early parenting support

Ongoing therapy is offered to women and men in the preconception, perinatal, post-partum, early parenting period and experiencing symptoms of anxiety, depression or trauma. The length of treatment will depend on your personal circumstances. You may be eligible under Better Access Initiative to have sessions subsidized by Medicare for up to 10 sessions in the calendar year (Jan-Dec). In order to receive subsidized sessions you will need to obtain a valid referral from your GP and provide this prior to your first appointment. You do not need a referral to access psychological support. If you do not have a referral from your GP your appointment will be charged as a private fee and you may be able to claim under your private health insurer. At a first appointment we will explore what has brought you into therapy and your therapy goals. We will commence an assessment including current day challenges and historical factors and start building a therapeutic roadmap for the sessions ahead. As part of ongoing therapy there are often practice tasks to consider in between sessions which stem from your learnings in the appointment and aim to build on your momentum towards your therapy goals.
